It's very sad to lose a fine old tree...we used to live next door to a great twisty old hazel - not a big thing, bit a beautiful thing - new neighbours moved in anc cleared everything from their garden, trees, shrubs, the things which had been planted when the house was built in the 30s. When they had pulled everything out they erected a 6foot orange stained fence and laid turf. Their young teenage son would stand kicking his football against the fence for an hour at a time.
